Scope

Altermagnetism refers to the recently unveiled collinear compensated magnetic order, capable of hosting spin-polarized electronic bands and facilitating spin-polarized currents. This emerging class complements the well-established categories of collinear magnets, namely ferro- and ferrimagnets, and antiferromagnets, while it is delimited from the former through the application of spin space symmetries. Given that altermagnets not only combine the advantages of both ferromagnetic and antiferromagnetic materials but also open new possibilities, the prediction of their theoretical framework and subsequent experimental validation has captured the interest of the research community. This growing research field is pushing the frontiers of condensed matter magnetism with dynamic growth across diverse fronts, spanning from material research to spintronics and superconductivity.

The objective of this conference is to establish a comprehensive platform for the discourse of recent advancements in altermagnetism and its intersections with various areas of condensed matter physics. This en- compasses discussions on their fundamental properties, material candidates, exploration of their characteristics (band structure and optics), and their compatibility with superconductivity. Renowned international experts in the aforementioned fields will report the latest developments, with ample opportunity provided for in-depth discussions. Additionally, participants are encouraged to showcase their research through poster sessions, fostering a collaborative and interactive environment for the exchange of ideas and findings.
